Spring Fling

A few weeks ago Anna's preschool put on a Spring Fling performance so we could see them perform the songs that they've been learning this spring.

They used bells for a few songs.  The kids were so cute!

Anna had fun doing the "tootie-ta!"

After the performance all of the families stayed for a picnic lunch.  Anna did a great job and it was a fun afternoon for us!

My New Business

Most of you probably already saw this on Facebook, but for those of you who don't do FB, here is the link to my new blog for my embroidery and applique business:

The Gingham Turtle

Thanks for checking it out!

Yogurt Time

Recently we started a new tradition at our house.  After Nate's nap we have "Yogurt Time".  We could also call it "regulate Anna's consumption of (very expensive) soy yogurt time", "give Nate practice using a spoon time", or (my favorite) "kill a few minutes before Daddy gets home time."

Nate's doing pretty well with the spoon.  I'm still not sure how much yogurt really ends up in his belly though!

And, this is how we know that Yogurt Time is over for the day.

And, this is how Nate feels about that!

Have you ever seen anything more pitiful?  Geesh, I thought girls were supposed to be the dramatic ones!!

Happy Birthday to Nate!

Our little guy is one!  He's such a sweet, happy guy and we all love him to pieces.  It was a fabulous year and we can't imagine life without our Nate Bug!  Here are some pictures of his actual birthday and his sock monkey party.

Nate's 12 Month Update

We had Nate's 12 month well-check last week.  His stats are 21 lbs. 6 oz (27%) and 31 3/4 inches (94%).  His head is consistently small, 6%!  Just for fun, Anna stats at 12 months were 26 lbs. and 32 1/2 inches (off the chart for both).  Nate's slowed down alot, gaining less than 2 lbs. between 6 and 12 months.  The dr. says it's nothing to worry about, he just had a huge growth spurt early on and is a very active guy!  The poor guy had to get a vial of blood drawn b/c I suspected that he has an egg allergy, since he broke out around his mouth the first time I gave him scrambled eggs.  The nurse called yesterday to confirm that he does have an allergy, but thankfully it looks like a mild one.  He'll probably be fine to eat things that have eggs as an ingredient, just not plain eggs.  We'll go to the allergist to find out for sure though.  Other than that, a great check up!  I've got lots of pics to post from Nate's birthday, our trip to the Yellow River Game Ranch, and some sprinkler time in the backyard.  Stay tuned... :)

Just Horsing Around

Fun with Aunt Katie

Anna and Nate (and their Mommy) love it when Aunt Katie comes by to visit!  She's going to be living in LA for the next 6 months and we're sad, but glad that it's only for 6 months (you hear that Vanguard?  ONLY 6 months!).  Here are a few pictures from Katie's last visit before she left town.  The kids faces crack me up in these.

At the same time that I got the rocker for Nate, I got Anna some Fisher Price Roller Skates.  They've been a big hit too.

Keith has some Roller Blades, so he's been skating with her some.  One night after dinner she wanted to skate, but it was too cold outside, so they were skating in the garage.  I went out to say hi and Keith was skating, but Anna was on the ground like this.  I asked her what she was doing and she said, "Building a temple for my animals."  I asked what they were going to do at the temple amd she said, "You know, they're going to get on 2 by 2 when the flood comes."  Looks like we need to review out bible stories :)

Speaking of bible stories, here is the Easter story as told by Anna to me in the car pool line a few weeks ago (triggered by seeing the crosses in front of the church).  "A long time ago they used to put bad guys on crosses.  Some people thought that Jesus was a bad guy, so they put him on the cross and clipped his nails."
